Paper Hoarding 101

So, I had to go to Home Depot today to buy a monster piece of wood to replace a rotted piece on our shed.

Since Home Depot is next to a shopping center where Tuesday Morning is, I decided I’d earned a trip into the store. I walked to where the scrapbooking stuff was and what was there was all clearanced. Walked around the store and found the new home for new stock. They had new paper. Lots and lots of new paper.

Now, I’m a thrifty chick. I’m certain that I lived a past life in the Depression, or under similar circumstances. I’m not even Jewish but I have an inner Jewish grandma, much like Amy Irving’s Bubby from Crossing Delancey – “This is nice paper, good paper.”

Anyway, I love Tuesday Morning and the price of MOST of their paper – they generally sell packs of 25 sheets of a 12 x 12 print for $1.99. “Yes, please, sign me up. Whadda ya got?” Obviously, this is previous season paper but most of the time it isn’t an issue. I use my paper for cards for Operation Write Home. Trendiness isn’t important; making something that is nicely constructed that becomes a card that will probably be saved after it’s sent home is.

Here’s today’s haul –

7 Gypsies Myconos Collection – Syros I love how bright this collection is – sort of a muted rainbow.

7 Gypsies Mykonos Collection – Delos I think most of this will be cut into 6 panels to highlight the cubed pattern – 2 over 3 as pictured.

7 Gypsies Abbeville and Cassel. They’re single sided papers but will work great together and with the Mykonos papers above.

7 Gypsies Sand – This striped print works with the papers above and will make for some great patchwork look cards.

7 Gypsies Victoria Paper – Fernwood Love the vintagey-ness of the top print. Great for girly cards.

Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls Chocolate Open Dot The pattern on the back is more subdued – it makes it look like the paper is textured. I’d been hoping to find a dark brown for layering and this is perfect.

Graphic 45 Le Cirque Collection – Extravaganza This pack was $3.99 but the paper is a heavier weight cardstock so it seems totally reasonable. Also, the color is gorgeous.
