Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson Relator follow up

Standard

This is a follow-up to the short mention I did of Relator from Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson. I love the song. I love Scarlett’s voice in it.

I was very disappointed in the online lyric sites and their attempts at getting the lyrics for this song. Yes, they’re sort of twangy and a little blurred together but really, it isn’t rocket science to get a decent idea of the correct lyrics. Enjoy. (And if I’ve made a mistake, please, let me know.)

When I met you
I didn’t know what to do
I was tired, I was hungry, I’d fight
Now I’m away
I write home every day
And I see you on the TV at night

You can see there’s lots for us to talk about
You can leave whenever you want out
Whoa
You don’t relate to me, no girl
You don’t respect me, no girl
No girl, yeah

When I met you I didn’t know what to do
But I noticed that I didn’t really feel
Now you’re away
You write home every day
I don’t beg I don’t borrow or steal

You don’t think there’s lots for us to talk about
You can leave whenever you want out
You want out
You don’t relate to me, no girl
You don’t respect me, no girl
You don’t relate to me, no girl
(You can leave whenever you want)
You don’t repect me, no girl
You don’t relate to me, no girl
(You can leave whenever you want)
You don’t respect me, no girl
No girl, yeah

Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson Relator

Standard

I’ve been a fan of Pete Yorn’s for a few years.  When I heard about this album, I was curious – can Scarlett Johansson sing?

Yes she can. I love the twang she has in this song – I could hear her doing country or bluegrass.  Anyway, fun sound, good harmonies and it’s happy, which I really like. Enjoy.
