Paper Smooches Sparks 11/19-11/25 Cool Shades Challenge

Paper Smooches has a new Sparks Cool Shades Challenge up

Here’s my take.

I used the Paper Smooches free digi owl. Sentiment is my own. Paper is no ID but probably DCWV. Wausau Fleck cardstock for sentiment and layering. I colored the owl with Spectrum Noir Markers – CT4, GB5, IG1, IG2 and IG4.

Paper Smooches World Card Making Day One Layer Challenge

In honor of World Card Making Day, the blog at Paper Smooches has several challenges going. One is to make a single layer card using stamping.

Let me clarify – I just started making cards and have no stamping ability. It takes me 5 tries to simply get a simple sentiment evenly stamped, let alone an entire image. I am a hoarder of things however and even though I had no use for them at the time, I’ve had vintage look postage cling stamps for a couple of years. I’m not even sure who made them – I bought them through a destash listing on Etsy.  Here we go –

White cardstock base and cardfront. Vintage stamp – ?, Sentiment from TPC Studio Secret Garden Set, paper antiqued with Ink It Up in Walnut, stamped in Craft Smart Black. Organza ribbon in black.

I antiqued the paper, stamped the sentiment, masked that off and then stamped the whole card. I pulled off the masked bit and then added organza ribbon to the top and bottom.

Paper Smooches World Card Making Day Pink Challenge

In honor of World Card Making Day, the blog at Paper Smooches has several challenges going. One is in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month – make a card using pink.

The info regarding the layout of this card is in the previous post.

White cardstock base, Wausau fleck for cardfront, textured cardstock in black, pink paper is from Making Memories Boho Chic Olivia, sentiment is from TPC Studio Secret Garden Set, black organza ribbon.

(This also counts toward my Kara uses a 6×6 pack of paper to make cards. Here’s the first post in this series,  the second, the third and the fourth. This card puts me at 31.)

OWH Sketch Challenge #137

This is a new sketch challenge from Operation Write Home in conjunction with Paper Smooches.

I created the card using the following –
Textured cardstock in dark blue
Accent papers from scrap stash
Alpine Hills edge punch from EK Tools
Owl from Paper Smooches didgi stamps
Colored with Crayola True to Life pencils
Sentiment from computer

Paper Smooches has a challenge up as well for this sketch.

Paper Smooches Retro Fab Challenge

Paper Smooches currently has a Sparks Challenge up.

The challenge is to create a retro fab item that uses a Paper Smooches stamp. I’m doing a card for Operation Write Home. My retro twist is that I’m using a vintage library card with the sentiment “Check you out!” along with a Paper Smooches digi owl.

I created this card using the following:

White cardstock base
Blue cardstock from Scrap Stash
Vintage library card tag using Sizzix Scallop Tag Combo Set
Sentiment from computer
Owl from Paper Smooches
Dimensional Foam
Crayola markers
Embroidery Floss
