Love You So

I’m totally enamored with my Silhouette Cameo at the moment. I decided to create my own love sentiment to use to make cards and larger pieces of art. This is my first use of it –

The Our Daily Bread Designs October Challenge at Operation Write Home is Sentiments. I think this qualifies as a card where the sentiment is the true focal point.

Xerox Flecs Cover, Silhouette Custom design, Distress Inks in Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass.

OWH ODBD August Challenge

OWH Sketch 179 & ODBD July Challenge

Having been gone for a week, my Mojo just might be missing. As I’ve loads of stuff to get done today, I decided to just combine two Operation Write Home Challenges and hope for the best.

This card combines Sketch Challenge #179 + the Our Daily Bread Designs July challenge – Stitching.

TPC Studio Color Connect Texture Deep Sea. DPs are all 7 Gypsies – Cassel, Sand and Abbeville. Sentiment is Doodlebug in Memento Tuxedo Black on Wausau Fleck cardstock. Brads are Recollections. ek tools border punch.

Our Daily Bread Designs June Challenge

The June challenge for Our Daily Bread Designs is up at Operation Write Home. The theme this month is water.

My card is a little on the random side. Here’s my train of thought – I decided that I was going to use my water DP. I have no water themed or nautical images. The paper looks like summer to me which means hot. People eat ice cream when it’s hot. I have a My Favorite Things Two Scoops for Flopsey stamp set. Let’s make a card.

Also, I wanted to try to do the Sketch Challenge #175. I failed miserably. I managed to get the horizontal element + the three embellishments.

Wausau Fleck Cardstock. DCWV DP. My favorite Things Two Scoops for Flopsey, colored with Soho pencils. Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. Recollections Brads.

OWH VCMP Challenge One

I’m a fan of Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess. Through all the book tour insanity, a tribe of people have come together to discover that they are not alone in whatever weirdness they might have going on in their lives. Several of us started following each other on Twitter. Leslie aka @crookedstamper, is a card maker extraordinaire and by checking out her blog over the past couple of months, I have finally gotten sucked into the world of card making. She participates with a group called Operation Write Home. They collect hundreds of handmade cards and ship them to troops who are overseas, to provide them with cards to send back home.

So, OWH has a Labor Day Weekend Virtual Card Making Party. Every few hours, they’re posting a new challenge with a new theme. As I’m literally just starting out in this cardmaking thing, I figured this would be the easiest way to get going. I’m very good at following directions.

Challenge one is a joint venture with Our Daily Bread Designs Monthly Challenge. Basically, create a card with an uplifting quote or sentiment.

Here we go –

I created the card using the following:
Buff base cardstock
Accent cardstock from PaperGarden Cropping Block Reds and Pinks
Striped accent from Making Memories Vintage Hip Collection
Sentiment from scrap stash
Organdy Ribbon in gold
