The latest sketch challenge is up at Operation Write Home – #192.
I turned my focal point and sentiment cattywampus to make them fit the design.
Xerox Flecs, 7 Gypsies Syros paper for everything DP but the Graphics 45 Kraft basket. Core-dinations Black. Balloon is from Hero Arts OWH Fundraising Happy Birthday set, Sentiment is Studio G, both in Memento Tuxedo Black. Shapeabilities oval dies. The Precious. Recollections heart punch.
Today’s card uses a combination of Washi and Paper Piecing.
The card started with the Washi – I put the Washi in place and then stamped the sentiment. I decided that the bunch of balloons from the Hero Arts OWH Birthday set would work well in the open space. I then pulled DPs in colors that worked with the tape.
Wausau Fleck cardstock, Pick Your Plum Washi, My Mind’s Eye Best of Damask, Sentiment is Studio 112 in Memento Tuxedo Black.
A Blog Named Hero has a new challenge up – If I could Turn Back Time.
I went with my Sizzix Dresden Petals Die to create this card.
My Minds Eye Best of Damask, Black paper from stash. Sentiment is from Hero Arts OWH Birthday set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Wausau Fleck cardstock that’s been colored with Distress Inks Tea Dye. Brads from Recollections. Vintage ecru lace.
Moxiefabworld was celebrating Paper Crafts 75 Creative Card Challenges Magazine a couple of weeks ago.
Tuesday’s Challenge was #60 – Card with a Window.
My first card for this challenge was kind of a tongue in cheek example – I made a card with a house where a window was visible. I crack myself up.
Anyway, today started off weird – yet another delayed school opening due to weather and my mojo was nowhere to be found. I started clicking through Moxie Fab World and saw that the deadline for the challenges was next week. Decided to try another version of the window challenge.
Wausau Fleck Cardstock. All stamped images are from the Hero Arts OWH Happy Birthday set. Balloon stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, TPC Dark bow is Blue Color Connect Texture, basket is TPC Tan Parchment, Balloon is Pink Paislee Pop Fashion Collection. Clouds stamped in American Crafts Powder Blue, Sentiment is Versamark Black. Hampton Art Clear Embossing Powder. Shapeabilities Circle die.
*I liked my Balloon so much from the #156 Sketch Challenge that I stamped multiples for future use. 🙂
Because I’m so enamored with heat embossing, I’ve been playing around with stamps and inks and embossing powders. This card is the result of some of that play.
The circles on the bottom are a stamped image from Ditto. I heat embossed the design and colored in some of the circles with Stampin Up Pencils once I’d decided to use the DCWV pattern paper on the top. I couldn’t figure out how to bridge the gap so went with my handy dandy Sizzix tags, a sentiment from the Hero Arts OWH Birthday set (heat embossed, of course) and some faded jeans Distress Inks. Two colors of embroidery floss complete the look.
Shopping Our Stash has put up their latest challenge – #69 Emboss It.
This is my contribution –
I was happy to do this one as I got to use my new Big Shot for the first time. Background paper and sentiment is from DCWV Christmas pack. Tag cut from Wausau Fleck cardstock with Big Scallop Tag Combo die. Sentiment layer embellished with Fiskars corner punch. Lights embossed with Sizzix Simple Impressions Embossing Folder, colored with Crayola pencils. Embroidery floss bow.
I’ve also submitted this to the Hero Arts Holiday Cards for Operation Write Home challenge. (Operation Write Home)
The latest challenge with Operation Write Home is Sketch Challenge #138 in conjunction with Hero Arts.
This is my contribution. I love this sketch – simple and to the point.
I started with a white cardstock base. Accent papers from the 7gypsies St. Augustine 8×8 pack. Sentiment stamped using TPC Studios Whimsy Greetings using a mix of black and plum inks. Dimensional foam squares.
