Really – the paper I used with these cards is the green of money. 🙂
As I’m making an effort to use all the paper that I pull out for a card, rather than putting remnants of it back in its pad or pack, I decided to match these green and white prints with black.
I made several of these, alternating the prints vertically and horizontally. Sizes of the pieces were all different.
These two were one offs.
Wausau Fleck Cardstock, Patterned is from Me & My Big Ideas Family Pack. Black is No ID. Sentiment is Studio G Kolette Hall in Memento Tuxedo Black.
*Update. I actually made these cards a few days ago. I was just putting cardfronts onto card bases and decided to heat emboss all the “thanks” that were stamped on single layer paper. It adds a little something to each card.
**I say single layer paper because the first one I tried to do post cardfront construction caused much waviness of paper due to adhesive underneath.
This is another color theory card, brought to you by the Design Bootcamp at Operation Write Home.
This one has the same pattern papers as my first card.
I switched things up by using an aqua paper for layering. Still Nature or Analogous harmony though.
Wausau Fleck cardstock for base and sentiment. Patterned papers are My Minds Eye Best of Damask. Aqua is unknown. Sentiment is from Word (Bradley Hand ITC 36pt Bold). Two shades of Embroidery Floss.
Well, the Color Theory Design Bootcamp at Operation Write Home certainly makes it easy for me to stick to my “Card a Day on the Blog” Resolution. 🙂
Today’s card follows the idea of Complementary Harmony – colors that would be opposite each other on the color wheel. I chose purple and green.
Purple is from Core-dinations Lap of Luxury Pack, Patterned is from Me & My Big Ideas Family Pack. White is Wausau Fleck Cardstock. Sentiment is from Word (Bradley Hand ITC 36pt Bold). Fiskars Corner Punch.
Operation Write Home is starting something new today – Design Bootcamp. Today’s info is all about basic color theory. Color schemes that work well together are called Color Harmonies – like Monochromatic, Analogous, Complementary and From Nature.
This is the first card I made.
At first, I thought because the colors were greens and blues that it had to be From Nature but then I realized that it’s Analogous as well as the colors would be next to each other on the color wheel.
Green paper is Bazzill Pear, patterned papers are My Minds Eye Best of Damask. Sentiment is from Word (Bradley Hand ITC 36pt Bold) as I only have two Thank You stamps and neither would have worked with this card, which has sort of a formal vibe to me. Sentiment is printed on Wausau Fleck Cardstock and colored with Distress Inks Peeled Paint.
