Operation Write Home is having a Memorial Day Bloghop. The theme is Red White and Blue in Love, Miss you, Birthday or Thank You.
I used my papers from my excellent We R Red White and Blue Collection stash. This specific card is the result of a happy accident while working with Sketch #224. I cut my first squares of DP too big so I put them aside to cut more pieces at the correct dimension. Once I finished that card, I went back to the bigger pieces and played around to create a design I liked.
Blue is Heidi Swapp No Limits – Smarty. Xerox Flecs Cover. We R Red White and Blue Patriot & Freedom Stripes, TPC Studio Hugs & Kisses in Distress Inks Faded Jeans. Recollections brads.
Today, I’m participating in the Operation Write Home World Card Making Day Bloghop. The theme of the day is Thank You, using an OWH Sketch. I’m using #84 but I’ve turned it on its side –
I used a Silhouette diecut as a stencil and used Distressed Inks to fill in the negative space. It’s very CAS. *I’ve included a picture of the card that I made using the negative of the image at the bottom of this post.*
Xerox Flecs Cover, TPC Black Linen, Fiskars Round Corner Punch, Silhouette Thank You. Distress Inks Barn Door, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord. Ribbon is Offray.
The card below uses the actual colored diecut.
Happy Bloghop everyone!
Today’s hop is all about Thank You cards.
My card is based on OWH Sketch # 170. This is my favorite sketch at the moment. With this card, I have 8 different inlinkz up on the Sketch post.
I had to tweak the sentiment size to fit the “Thanks”.
Khaki paper from stash. DPs are DCWV Summer Stack. Blue paper is Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls Denim Dot. Sentiment is Doodlebug in Memento Tuxedo Black. Brads are Recollections. Pick Your Plum Baker’s Twine. Dimensional adhesive.
Want to get back to the Hop?
Operation Write Home is having a Memorial Day Bloghop tomorrow. The theme is Thank You cards.
My card will be based on OWH Sketch # 170. I know. You’re amazed. You know I don’t like this sketch at all. (I think I’ve made more cards with this sketch than any other I’ve seen…)
Today’s card is a practice card – I used a different base and level of layers.
Wausau Fleck Cardstock. DPs are DCWV Summer Stack. Blue paper is Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls Denim Dot. Sentiment is Studio G in Memento Tuxedo Black. Brads are Recollections. Pick Your Plum Baker’s Twine. Dimensional adhesive.
When you’re attaching brads to a card, make sure you’re attaching them to the cardfront only. Ask me how I know… Let’s just say the person who grabbed this card would wonder why it didn’t open. It’s now layered on both sides of the inside and has 3 holes visible on the back…
