I love when things come together harmoniously.
Moxie Fab World is currently celebrating the release of Birthday Creations, Volume 3. The first challenge posted was a Birthday Sketch Challenge with a twist – the card had to be all stamping or no stamping at all.
This is the sketch –
Which I turned cattywampus.
In a moment of great timing, Operation Write Home put up a Lego Card Tutorial from Handmade by Julie.
My card is a version of the sketch in Lego style.
Xerox Flecs Base. Papers are all from Colorbok. Sentiment and studs are from Silhouette. Distress Inks in Barn Door, Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge. Gelly Roll Pen. The Precious (3M dimensional adhesive).
When I make another one, I’ll minimize the sentiment a bit more to allow for better spacing. A very cool looking card though.
Paper Crafts Connection has a challenge up right now – a stamping 3 ways challenge. This is in honor of Stamp It! 3 Ways. Take a stamp set and use it 3 different ways.
Because I’m doing a card a day on the blog, my entry will be written over 3 days.
This is the Stamp set that I used – the Hero Arts OWH Birthday Set.
This is the first card that I made –
This technique has the balloon paper pieced.
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, bow is TPC Blue Color Connect Texture, basket is TPC Tan Parchment, Balloon is Pink Paislee Pop Fashion Collection. Shapeabilities Circle die. Wausau Fleck cardstock, light blue cardstock from stash.
I’ve also submitted this to the Operation Write Home Happy Birthday Midweek Throwdown as well.
The Tuesday Trigger this week at Moxie Fab World is Birthday themed – Cath Edvalson’s Mom is having a big birthday on February 1st.
The trigger features artwork by Carolyn Gavin.
Here’s my card – I chose to work with the general color theme and pulled the bird image as well.
Papers are My Mind’s Eye Best of Damask, cut with the Dresden Petal Sizzix Die. Flower embellishment is Jolees, brads and bird stamp are Recollections. Vintage Lace trim. Black paper from stash. Sentiment is Hero Arts OWH Birthday set in Memento Tuxedo Ink. Distress Inks in Tea Dye.
Operation Write Home was kind enough to have a Happy Birthday Midweek Throwdown this week as well – I love when a plan comes together!
I am digging this card – it’s sorta vintagey and jewel tones are my favorite kinds of colors.
