I <3 Perfect Tears Tools

A couple of months ago, Operation Write Home featured a Birthday Blogskip with Perfect Paper Crafting and their Perfect Layers Tools. As I have a terrible time making even margins, I decided the set would be perfect for me. When I was at their site, I also discovered something they call Perfect Tears Tools. These let you tear paper with lovely even edges so a project will look thoughfully put together and not like something a 4 year old did in preschool. I ended up buying both sets of tools.

I’m a bargain shopper and found a wonderful pack of handmade paper at a thrift shop last year. It’s lovely to work with but tearing it is a chore. I decided to try it with the tools. An item that is included with the set is a water pen. You use it to mark where you want the paper to tear.  I used the rulers to mark where I wanted separation but tore them by hand once I’d made my water lines.

I love how simple this design is but how elegant it is as well. The silver swirls go with the print on the DP and the embossed silver stars offer a lovely textural quality without having to add embellishments.

You A-Mews Me in Coral

Today’s card is the first in which I’m using a pack of 7 Gypsies paper. Tuesday Morning generally has packs of 25 sheets of paper for $1.99. Great deal but then I have loads of the same print to get through. Decided yesterday that this was my print for the day.

I hadn’t planned on distressing the DP but I dropped my Memento pad when I was inking up the sentiment stamp…

OWH Midweek Throwdown – White on White

The Midweek Throwdown is up at Operation Write Home. It’s a color challenge – White on White.

Here’s my submission.

DCWV Lemon Flower White, Autumn Leaves Rhonna Farrer in American Crafts Blush Pigment Ink with Hampton Arts Clear Embossing Powder, TPC gems. Offray White Ribbon. The Precious. Darice Embossing Folder.

Monster Love

Today’s card uses a Digi by Dustin Pike. I’m learning how to make Silhouette Cut Files with digital images. I totally forgot to put registration marks on my page when I printed which is why the border isn’t perfect. Still pretty cool – I’m not a fan of fussy cutting.

Wausau Bright White, TPC Corduroy Black, Doodle Dragon Valentine Monster Digi, TPC Studio Hugs and Kisses sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black. Stampin’ Up watercolor pencils, Tim Holtz Water Brush. The Precious.

A Sunny Miss You

I used a new stamp today to make emossed arrows into sun rays.

I flubbed the initial design for the card, which is why there is a visible seam. Still like the idea. I’m tempted to get multiple sets of the arrow stamp so I don’t have to quickly stamp and clean and stamp and clean when I use these inks.
