True Love

Standard

So, I started out the morning with a headache and was kind of mojo-less. I started flipping through my stamp sets and came upon my journaling tags. I saw a heart, realized I had a true love stamp mounted and saw my bright red woodgrained paper on the paper cutter. VOILA, a card idea was born.

I was so smart in how I was going to make this card and give it a window but I was wrong.

The first thing I did was to stamp the journaling heart in black. Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment. I then tried to figure out what shape window to make but the circles and ovals I have were the wrong sizes and the shapes were wrong. AHA, I thought, I’ll stamp the heart on the back of the red paper that I want to use and then cut around that to give me a window. I did that and discovered that this heart is not symmetrical so the window was off. I then inked the edge of the heart and stamped directly on the red. This worked. I adhered my stamped sentiment behind the window, stuck that on a base and added a trio of die cut hearts to finish it off. I’m quite pleased with the end result.
