The Dollyrots – Twist Me to the left

Standard

I love the Dollyrots. They make fun music. You can jump up and down to their stuff and it makes you happy.

They’ve just released the video for their song “Twist Me to the Left”. This song totally deserves to be a summer hit. Let us try our best to make it so.

My first card using my Silhouette Cameo

Standard

After seeing the example card for the Operation Write Home Window card tutorial, I found myself coveting a Silhouette Cameo. It arrived a couple of days ago and I immediately went shopping for designs as the bundle I bought included $35 in Silhouette store credits. One of my first picks was the Fancy Pants design Hello / Hi Talk Bubble Set. I cut out 2 sets of the design in a great grey cardstock so that I’d have “manly” sentiments for cards.

Here’s my first card using one of the designs. It’s a perfect addition to the Midweek Throwdown this week – Clean and Simple.

Xerox Flecs Cover, Blue paper is Chatterbox Scrapbook Walls Denim Dot, Grey is ANW Night Sky. The Precious.

A is for Animal

Standard

This past week I’ve made cards featuring Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, Grover and Beaker. We are continuing on the Muppets theme today with my favorite one of all – Animal. It was amusing to decide how to create and assemble him. Once I had the bits and pieces all cut, it wasn’t until his eyebrow went on that he truly looked like himself.

So, I love Sesame Street which means I love the Muppets as well. This past week I’ve made cards featuring Cookie Monster, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and Grover. Then one of my favorite Muppets jumped to the head of the “Make a card of me” line – Beaker – everyone’s favorite lab assistant. Meep. Meep. Meep.

Today’s card is a match to yesterday’s and the day before’s – First there was Cookie Monster and then there was Elmo. Today we have Oscar the Grouch. I’m the same age as Sesame Street – I love the characters. When I went to the White House Easter Egg Roll last year, I think I was more excited to see Elmo than I was to see the President, and I was really excited to see him.
