Because it’s too awesome not to share –

Standard

– my vintage Donny and Marie sleeping bag. I got it for a sleepover when I was in the 3rd grade (1978).

Here are comments from friends who have seen it via Facebook –

“Looking for the “shudder” button!”

“That is so Awesome!!!!”

“I can’t help it… every time I see it… I have to click on it….it has some weird… control over me.”

“This is righteous.”

It is my dream to have an opportunity to have it in the presence of Donny, Marie, or dare I hope? Both of them.

I had a babysitter in the 1st grade who would let me stay up to watch the show.  I could try to blame her but I remember having the Puppy Love 45 when I was a kindergartner, living in another state.

Using Up 12×12 paper Post 1

I’m a hoarder bunny. I’m also a thrifty chick. Put the two together and you get a person with a penchant for impulse buying of bargain items. Fortunately, I’m able to keep myself fairly under control. I also divest myself of most of my purchases through eBay and Etsy.

Crafty stuff – that’s all for me though. For years, I purchased tons ‘o paper products, even though I didn’t do any sort of paper crafting. For a while, my purchases helped the kids create awesome projects for school. Then, I discovered Operation Write Home. This group collects hand made cards from all over the country that they then send to deployed troops all over the world. The Heroes then have lovely cards to send back home to family, friends and people they feel they need to thank.

This was a perfect thing for me. I had most of the supplies needed to make cards and I could awaken new creative bits of my brain with a new skillset. Now, even though I have most of the needed supplies, you can always use more. My issue is that I have so much to start with. I need to use up some of what I have to make room for new things.

One way to do that is to start blowing through my 12×12 paper. I have some from stores and some from thrifts. I never pay retail so don’t have alot of money invested in it but I do have alot. Through the OWH President’s Day bloghop, I picked up a thought from Leslie / aka The Crooked Stamper. Her part of the hop was all about disappearing 12×12 paper.

I participated in the bloghop but kept that thought in my head. “Use all the paper.” I sat down at my crafting table and pulled out a few sheets ftom a thrift find that were complementary to each other. The results of this session will make my next few posts.

Set #1 is using a single layer of DP over a cardstock base and then adding a simply sentiment and enbellishment.

Simple, to the point and nearly a full sheet of paper is gone.

Wausau Ivory cardstock, unkown DP. Memento Rich Cocoa ink. Brad from Recollections.
