OWH Midweek Throwdown – Cards for Kids #2

Standard

The midweek throwdown this week at Operation Write Home is to make Cards for Kids. I just found some super cute animal stamp sets on clearance at Michaels so decided to stamp a bunch of images and color them in.

Here’s my first critter –

Wausau Fleck cardstock. Pattern papers are from DCWV The Paper Stack. Alligator is from a Recollections set, colored with Crayola True to Life pencils. Sentiment is Studio G Lynette Anderson Taylor in Memento Tuxedo Black. Large Circle and Scallop Circle Shapeabilities Dies. Dimensional adhesive.

I used the handy dandy colored pencil tips from Sandy Allnock – baby oil will help to even out the blotchiness that results from colored pencils.

  1. This technique is JUST the tip that I have been looking for! I have invested in some alcohol markers, but the set didn’t come with enough shades of a single colour to do proper blending. I have seen other posts about using markers *and* watercolor pencils, but the technique you show is by far the easiest and the most economical on the pocket book!!YAY!!!
Thank you so much for sharing that!!
