I’ve been dealing with a middle school bookfair for the past week so craftiness has been far from my mind. (BTW, middle school teachers deserve hazard pay. Think about it – hoards of pubescent teeenagers on a daily basis with raging hormones and attitude. I struggle with one – imagine hundreds of them all day, every day. Oy.)
Anyway, the bookfair is over and I want to think happy thoughts – so here’s my take –
I’ve had the banner stamp for a while and hadn’t used it yet. I wanted bright and happy so thought RAINBOW! I stamped the image three times in a row and used colored pencils to color in the flags. The set includes a “hello” stamp so I stamped it above the banners but didn’t like how it looked. I stamped the Thinking of you on a scrap, cut it into a banner, outlined the edges in black and stuck it over. (Had I not needed to cover up the “bad stamp”, I probably would have put the sentiment on the vellum and changed the position of the banner strip.)
Originally, I did this on a whole cardfront sized piece of paper but realized I had no idea what to do with the empty white space. Decided to cut it in half and attached it to this fabulous piece of Vellum. (Thank you Leslie / TheCrookedStamper.)
Wausau fleck cardstock, banner is Studio G Lynette Anderson Taylor, sentiment is Whimsy Greetings from TPC Studio, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. Pencils are Stampin’ Up. Vellum is unknown.
I think the next time I go on a roadtrip, I might stamp the banner on a ton of patterned paper in advance and cut them out on the drive. This would be fabulous for paper pieced designs.
