Jonesing for the Avengers DVD

I love movies. Sometimes, I love the behind the scenes stuff you get more than the actual movie. Avengers was amazing – Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, all the snarky banter. It was awesome. I am so ready for this movie to come out on DVD.

I’ve already posted about the gag reel. So funny. Joss Whedon appearing on set and yelling “Stop fighting!”.

Yesterday, saw a video of deleted Captain America footage. It was supposed to be his introduction piece in the movie. It featured what would have been Stan Lee’s cameo in the film (“Ask for her phone number, you moron.”). More importantly, it featured a bit with Steve Rogers and the waitress who is shown in the hostage situation and tv interview at the end of the movie. I can remember talking to my husband about her and asking why she was so prominent at the end. This footage should not have been removed.

Disney pulled the video but a writer Da7e, put a beat by beat description of it in an article.

When I buy this DVD, I’m watching all the extras first.

Wednesday Grumblies

I have nothing amusing to say or share today. I do hope that the Verizon tech who comes out today can explain why we’ve lost all services every couple of days for like 5 hours at a time each time. It goes out around 1:00 pm and comes back 6:30 pm-ish. Really inconvenient when you can’t do work you need to. Of course the window that Verizon gave for the call is a bit extreme. He will be here netween 8:00 am and 9:00 pm.

*Updated. Tech got here at noon. He left. He came back. He left again. Service was out and then the phone rang. It was him, telling me we had a “bad light” at a service / junction box down the road that he has replaced. Left his number and his super’s number, in the event that service goes out again. Fingers crossed the issue is fixed.

Vintage pottery can be a learning experience

I have lusted for vintage pottery for a very long time. I’m big on identifying patterns and shapes. For years and years, there has been a Blue Tulip pattern in pottery serving pieces that has been attributed to Cronin Pottery of Ohio, namely because the mark used on the bottom was similar to a mark they used. It’s recently been discovered that in fact Blue Tulip is a Cameron Clay Products of West Virginia design.!/pages/Cameron-Clay-Products/250876448294945

Wil Wheaton is far too much fun

On Wednesday of this past week, Wil Wheaton posted a link on twitter –

That link led to this.

My first thought was that I had to do something Bloggess related. This is what I submitted then –

For those that don’t know, Wil has been a most excellent person to Jenny Lawson.

About an hour after posting the link to the coloring page, and after retweeting several creations that had been submitted, Wil posted a link to a new Pinterest Board – Wesley Crusher, evolved. It is excellent and filled with all kinds of silliness.

I’m not sure why but yesterday I had a mini epiphany and an idea for an evolved Crusher popped into my head.   I’m very pleased with the result.

Everyone could use some brains

We’ve all heard of the zombie apocalypse. Zombies are going to take over the world and they will be in search of brains. With these charming pendants, you can save a life – if a zombie comes to you, asking for brains, you can simply hand then your necklace. As zombies aren’t the smartest of creatures, you will confuse them and then you can escape.

Like the brains but want a different color? Please, let me know. I love making custom brains.

The Avengers Gag Reel

I saw this yesterday but the original video has been pulled. I make no promises about this one. If you loved the Avengers movie like I did, you will love these bloopers. (Updated – this one got pulled as well. Your best bet is to go to youtube and simply search Avengers gag reel.)
